Volleyball Announces 2025 Roster and Schedule

BATTLE CREEK -- Head coach Judy Mason and the Kellogg Community College volleyball program have announced the schedule and roster for the upcoming 2025 season.  The Bruins are set to play two scrimmages and 27 regular season matches, including 18 against Region XII opponents, 12 as part of MCCAA action and nine at home.

The volleyball team returns five from last year's Region XII semi-final team and brings in seven new faces. Leading the returns for the Bruins are outside hitter Piper Porter, who was named All-Region, All-MCCAA, All-Western Conference, and All-Freshman team last season, and opposite hitter Caliey Masserang who was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Other notable returns are outside hitter Makenzee Grimm, opposite hitter MacKenzy Warner, and defensive specialist Anya Ruelas.

Newcomers for the Bruins will be led by middle blockers Emilia Henneman-Dallape and Maya Valentine, as well as setters Laney Johnson and Addison Tucker. Contributing to the freshman class of attackers are outside hitters Brooke Koskela and Ava Longstreet, and defensive specialist Lylah Parrish brings depth to the backrow.

"I am looking forward to another competitive season ahead," said Coach Mason.  "We worked hard in the offseason and are bringing in some great talent. Our schedule is tougher this year, but that is by design. We are looking to return to the Region XII tournament again, and this gives us the best chance to be ready to win it."

The Bruins begin scrimmaging as early as this Friday, August 8th, as they travel to Aquinas College for a day of play. Their fall campaign officially kicks off on Friday, August 22nd as the Bruins travel to the Opening Weekend Tournament hosted by All-In Volleyball in Rockford, IL.

The Bruins will host one scrimmage, and seven home game inside the Miller Physical Education Building gymnasium on KCC's North Avenue Campus this fall. The home opener will be on September 9th as the Bruins host the University of Northwestern Ohio and the University of Olivet. The annual Blaze of Glory Tailgate Game will be held on Tuesday, October 14th when the Bruins host rivals Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Following the conclusion of the regular season on October 30th at home, the MCCAA Western Conference's top four seeds will head to the Great Lakes Districts A & B Tournaments November 6-8. Other competitors include teams from the MCCAA northern and eastern conferences, as well as teams from the OCCAC.
