Women's XC Qualifies for Nationals
The KCC women's cross country team started impressively by qualifying for the National Championship as a team with a team time of 1.58:00, just under the 2.00:00 qualifying team time needed in their first race of the season!
Leading the Bruins was Freshman Alicyn Gleesing (Gull Lake HS) making the podium with a 9th place finish of 60 runners. Her time of 21:01 on the 5K course was a qualifying time individually into the National Championship. Emma Taggett (Plainwell HS) also qualified individually with an impressive 22:07. Another notable finish was Sophomore Olivia Butler (Homer HS) with an excellent season opening time of 25:00. The women travel to Grand Rapids, MI on September 13 and hope to improve individually and team-wise every race this year.
