Men's Basketball Splits the Week

The Kellogg Community College men's basketball team hosted two games in the Miller Gym this week: Kirtland Community College on Jan. 7th and Grand Rapids Community College on January 10th. The Bruins split the week, taking down the Firebirds and falling to the Raiders.

Kirtland | W, 67-64

Head Coach Steve Proefrock said, "Tonight was a low scoring game as we didn't shoot well but when you play defense you stay in low scoring games. In the end we were down by 11 with four minutes to go and we pulled out a win by causing turnovers with our trapping defense!"

GRCC | L, 96-89

Head Coach Steve Proefrock said, "Grand Rapids came out shooting very well and we were cold from the field. As a result we got down early and had to fight back to get back in the game. We mounted a comeback late but it wasn't quite good enough. I believe my young team will learn from this and they will now understand what it takes to win big games in the conference."

Next up, Bruins travel to Southwestern Michigan College on January 14 with a 7:30pm tipoff.
